Tyre of the Month: Michelin Pilot Sport 4

Tyre of the Month: Michelin Pilot Sport 4

This June, we have selected the excellent Michelin Pilot Sport 4 as our tyre of the month.

The Pilot Sport range from Michelin has been developed to provide high levels of performance and was co-designed by leading car manufacturers including Audi, Porsche and BMW. Released earlier this year, the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 has received widespread critical acclaim and is set to be a leading summer tyre choice.

Superior Steering Precision

Constructed with a hybrid belt of aramid and nylon, the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 offers excellent steering control. This belt provides an excellent transmission of steering force to tyre movement, allowing it to respond with high levels of precision. In addition, this tyre offers excellent road handling, even at high speeds, thanks to its ultra-reactive tread design. This innovative tread continuously adapts to the road, optimising contact and grip and enabling the tyre to retain excellent stability.

Excellent Wet Weather Performance

This tyre offers high levels of safety in wet conditions thanks to its wide and deep longitudinal grooves which provide a high level of drainage on wet surfaces. As water is rapidly dispersed and contact with the road is optimally maintained, resistance against aquaplaning is increased. In addition, the use of hydrophobic silica in the compound of the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 means that grip is retained in wet weather.

Michelin Longevity

The Pilot Sport 4 has been developed to offer impressive tyre life. Designed with experience gained from Le Mans 24 Hour victories and other significant motorsports trophies, the Pilot Sport range provides remarkable levels of tyre mileage in comparison to its competitors. Based on Michelin tests*, the Pilot Sport 4 offers 3,283 more miles than the Bridgestone Potenza S001, 4,569 more miles than the ContiSportContact 5 and 4,013 more miles than the Dunlop Sport Maxx RT.
