Look After Your Tyres - Improve Safety & Extend Tyre Life

A lot of customers don’t realise the benefits that can come from looking after their tyres.

Keeping a close eye on your tyres and checking them on a regular basis can help to improve driving safety, extend tyre life and improve your driving experience.

So what needs to be done?

  • Check and clean your tyres on a regular basis – we recommend you check your tyres at least every two weeks. Remove any stones from the tread and check for uneven wear, lumps or bulges
  • Check your tyre pressures – a regular tyre pressure check with a reliable tyre pressure gauge will help you prevent over or under inflation
  • Watch your tread – the minimum legal requirement for tyre tread in the UK is 1.6mm but we would recommend you consider changing your tyres when the tread depth is between 2mm and 3mm. The wet grip of the tyre is significantly compromised when below 3mm and stopping distances greatly increase
  • Always work with specialist fitters as inexpert fitting could result in an accident or damage to tyres
